Serie A Week 16: Rescheduled Match

AC Milan missed a valuable opportunity to climb to fourth position in Serie A as they were held to a draw by Livorno, though the result was overshadowed by a serious injury to Ronaldo.

AC MILAN 1-1 LIVORNO
Ronaldo had just come on as a substitute when he fell awkwardly on his left knee and was carried off on a stretcher in obvious agony. Initial tests revealed that Ronaldo has ruptured a knee tendon, though the extent of the damage is not yet known.

The fall happened as the Rossoneri won a penalty from a handball, and after Ronaldo's departure Andrea Pirlo stepped up to cancel out Nico Pulzetti's effort which gave the Serie A strugglers a surprise lead early in the second-half.

The home side could not find another goal, however, as their four-game winning run was ended and they remain fifth in Serie A.
