Napoli have pounced to sign talented young Argentine goalkeeper Nicolas Navarro.
The move comes out of the blue as the Vesuviani were believed to be chasing San Lorenzo custodian Agustin Orion.
Navarro joins from Argentinos Juniors for a fee that will eventually amount to around £2.3m.
"It was all done very hurriedly and the deal was completed at 10pm last night," Navarro told La Red.
At just 22-years-old, Navarro is one of South America’s most highly rated goalkeeping prospects and was part of the Argentina Under-20 squad that won the 2005 FIFA World Youth Championship.
Meanwhile, Serbian midfielder Nikola Gulan has completed a transfer from Fiorentina to Sampdoria.
The 18-year-old defensive midfielder came through the youth ranks at Partizan Belgrade and was discovered by Fiorentina when he starred at a youth competition in Barcelona last summer, but has struggled to break into the Viola line-up.
