Inter president Massimo Moratti has confirmed the club are interested in signing Atletico Madrid midfielder Maniche.
The Portugal international has been linked with a move away from the Vicente Calderon stadium in the current transfer window and the Nerazzurri are in pole position to acquire the 30-year-old on loan until the end of the season.
"There is nothing definite," Moratti told Sky Italia. "We have a meeting with Atletico on Wednesday."
Maniche joined the Primera Liga outfit from Dynamo Moscow last year after a loan spell with Chelsea.
Serie A leaders Inter have been looking to reinforce their midfield line with Patrick Vieira, Luis Figo and Dejan Stankovic all unavailable through injury.
