[Mercato] Flamengo line up Ronaldo deal

Brazilian giants Flamengo have confirmed that they will make an offer to sign Ronaldo in the next fortnight.

In an interview with the Estado de Sao Paulo newspaper, Flamengo vice-President Kleber Leite has reiterated the club's interest in bringing the 31-year-old striker back to Brazil.

"The interest is mutual. I have already talked with Ronaldo and he has admitted his desire to join Flamengo," said Leite.

"In two weeks we are going to make a final offer. Then Ronaldo will give his answer."

Leite said that the club are not going to negotiate with AC Milan and will leave it to Ronaldo to secure his release from the European champions.

"We don't have anything to do with AC Milan. We are not going to negotiate with them. It is Ronaldo's challenge to obtain his release or to end his deal with them."

Ronaldo's deal with Flamengo includes a three-year contract with the Rio de Janeiro side and a position at the club after his retirement.

"After his retirement, we want him to be Flamengo's ambassador. It is the club's desire to help him in his social work with kids from all over the world," Leite added.
