CL Matchday 4: Wednesday Review

Inter are on the brink of the Champions League knockout round after recovering a two-goal deficit to complete a thrilling comeback against CSKA Moscow while a last-gasp own goal handed Roma a vital draw against Sporting Lisbon, leaving the Serie A side well placed to progress.

GROUP G: Inter 4-2 CSKA Moscow / Fenerbahce 2-0 PSV Eindhoven
Inter remain top of the section with nine points and are all but assured of a place in the last 16 after a dramatic revival against a CSKA Moscow side who went two up after 31 minutes thanks to well-worked goals from Jo and Vagner Love.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Esteban Cambiasso brought the Nerazzurri back into the match with two strikes in three minutes before half time, and the same players scored again after the break to secure a fine victory.

In the other Group G game, two goals in three first-half minutes from Kazim Kazim and Semih Senturk took Fenerbahce within sight of a first-ever place in the knockout rounds as they moved four points clear of PSV Eindhoven. Inter host the Turks on Matchday 5 on 27 November.

GROUP F: Sporting Lisbon 2-2 Roma / Manchester United 4-0 Dynamo Kiev
The visitors made a spectacular start as Marco Cassetti gave them a fourth-minute advantage with a stunning shot but Liedson brought Sporting level midway through the opening half and when he headed the Portuguese team in front four minutes past the hour, it looked as if Sporting would join their opponents on six points with two games remaining.

In the 90th minute, however, David Pizarro collected a short pass and unleashed a long-range effort that Anderson Polga inadvertently nodded into his own net to leave goalkeeper Tiago helpless and Roma jubilant.

Manchester United secured their passage to the last 16 with two games to spare thanks to a 4-0 victory against Dynamo Kiev. After Gerard Pique and Carlos Tevez had found the net before the break, Wayne Rooney and Cristiano Ronaldo added late goals as the dominant hosts made it four wins from four and confirmed Dynamo's elimination in the process. Roma now only need to match Sporting Lisbon's result at Manchester United when they travel to Kiev on Matchday 5 on 27 November.

GROUP E: Barcelona 2-0 Glasgow Rangers / Olympique Lyonnais 4-2 Stuttgart

GROUP H: Slavia Prague 0-0 Arsenal / Steaua Bucharest 0-2 Sevilla
