Sex has long been associated with football.Yet a milestone was reached last week when Conto TV, an Italian hardcore porn channel, outbid other broadcasters to secure the rights to show Fiorentina’s UEFA Cup first-round tie against Dutch outfit Groningen on September 20.
The reaction to the news in Italy has been rapid. Most think its just a publicity stunt by the broadcaster. But executives at Conto TV describe it as an attempt to offer their viewers "something different".
