Serie B outfit Spezia have been docked a point in the 2007-08 campaign after failing to hand in financial documents by the deadline.
All clubs in Italy must prove their financial stability before they are allowed to register for the new season.
This evening the FIGC's Disciplinary Commission handed down the sentence, taking one point off Spezia’s tally as punishment for the delay. President Giuseppe Ruggieri has also been suspended for six months.
It is a heavy blow for the Liguria outfit, as they face a tough relegation battle and in their first four rounds had only picked up one point.
In the updated Serie B table Spezia prop up the rest on 0, while Brescia lead with a 100 per cent record of 12 points following last night’s rescheduled 2-0 win over Piacenza.
