Novellino defies touchline ban

Torino coach Walter Novellino has been fined 10,000 euros and reprimanded for breaching a touchline ban and entering the dressing room before the club's 2-0 loss to Parma.

The Granata coach was serving the suspension for insulting Andrea Gervasoni during his side’s draw with Siena last weekend and was not allowed to give instructions during the game at the Stadio Tardini last night.

However, Novellino hid in a room between the shower room and the changing area to speak with his players before escaping back to the stands.

The daring plan proved futile as the Turin outfit flopped to a 2-0 defeat against their rejuvenated hosts.

It's unlikely Novellino will be handed an extended ban and he will be relieved as they play city rivals Juventus on Sunday night.
