The 2007-08 Serie A and Serie B fixture lists will be drawn up at 1800 UK time (1900 Italy/CET) in Rome this evening.
The new Italian League campaign kicks off on the weekend of August 26 and the fixtures will be released at the Salone d'Onore room at CONI's Foro Italico headquarters.
Champions Inter, Roma, Lazio and Milan will be seeded, having ended the previous campaign in the top four positions, with the addition of Juventus, despite the Bianconeri being one of the newly promoted sides.
The Lega Calcio opted to seed the Serie B champions in order to avoid bitter clashes with the big clubs in the first three rounds of the season.
The decision was requested by sponsors, although reports in Italy suggested that other big clubs also backed Juve’s seeding, as they were not eager to immediately face Claudio Ranieri’s men.
Other factors that will be taken into consideration when the draw for Serie A is made include: Clubs that share stadia (in Turin, Milan, Genoa and Rome) must not play at home in the same round; teams that play in the same city/region (Catania/Reggina and Fiorentina/Empoli) can'not play at the same time at home; and the four derby matches (in Turin, Milan, Genoa and Rome) will not be played on the opening or final day or on the same day as one of the other derbies.
Shortly after 1800 UK time, we will bring you all the latest news and reaction to the new season fixtures and of course those all important dates of the top head-to-heads in both Leagues. Don't forgt to join us!
