Mancini: It's party time!

Roberto Mancini has dedicated Inter’s first Scudetto won ‘on the field’ since 1989 to "all the Interisti."

The team’s celebrations were postponed on Wednesday with a 3-1 home defeat to Roma, but today’s 2-1 victory in Siena and the Giallorossi’s slip in Bergamo mathematically crowned them Campione d’Italia.

"It is an immense feeling because the squad played an exceptional season and to win with five rounds still to go is truly extraordinary," said the coach.

The Nerazzurri were left to stand on the pitch at the Stadio Franchi waiting for the final whistle to go in Atalanta’s 2-1 victory over Roma in Bergamo.

"The important thing was to win the title, even if we are a little tired at this stage of the campaign. I am very happy for all the fans."

Mancini had a final dedication as the celebrations kicked off in Siena. "I have nothing in particular to say, other than to dedicate this Scudetto to all the Interisti and my family. Now it’s time to party."
