Inter, Milan and Roma have today learned who they will face in the UEFA Champions League Round of 16. All three have been given difficult tasks as they aim to reach the quarter-finals.
Milan will be confident of success after being paired with Celtic, Inter face the Valencia threat, while Roma will take on the dangerous Lyon.
The Rossoneri will start the last 16 against the 1967 European Champions in Glasgow where they will be wary of the Scottish champions’ strong home record in the competition. However, they will be equally keen to take advantage of Celtic’s struggles on the road when they entertain them in the return at the San Siro.
Inter will come up against Valencia in Milan in the first leg and then face a tough return to Spain – the country where last season’s campaign came to an end against Villarreal.
Five-time French champions Olympique Lyon, considered by many as potential winners, are Roma’s opponents in the first knockout round.
The tie of the round sees holders and Spanish champions Barcelona face Liverpool while Real Madrid take on German champions Bayern Munich. Elsewhere, FC Porto have been drawn against English champions Chelsea, Dutch champions PSV Eindhoven will meet last year's beaten finalists Arsenal and Lille are the opposition for Manchester United.
First legs will be played on February 21/22 and the second legs are scheduled for March 6/7.
