Euro 2012 Visit: Day 3

Following the site visit of Napoli’s Stadio San Paolo this morning, the delegation transferred to the third of the eight stops - Palermo.

The visit began with a meeting at the Villa Niscemi with Lorenzo Ceraulo (Infrastructure Councillor), Salvatore Cordaro (President of the Town Council) and Stefano Santoro (Sports Councillor).

It was followed by a visit to the Stadio Renzo Barbera and then the Paolo Borsellino training facility.

Before travelling to the fourth stop of the tour Bari, Horst Schmidt (Advisor to the National Teams Committee) expressed his interest for plans for the city. "I would like to thank Palermo for its welcome. The development of the city and the plans for new infrastructure are without doubt very interesting."

In the capital of the Puglia region Bari, Mayor Michele Emiliano and city authorities welcomed the UEFA delegates. "I would like to thank the UEFA delegation and the FIGC Organising Committee for having selected our city as one of the eight possible locations to host the competition. I would like to assure you of Bari's great passion for football and the importance of such an event for the city."
