Serie A - Week 3: Saturday Review

Roma 3-0 RegginaRoma put the misery of their Champions League defeat by CFR Cluj behind them by earning their first Serie A win of the season against Reggina while Catania ended Atalanta's 100 per cent record.

ROMA 3-0 REGGINA
Roma had been left shell-shocked by their defeat to Romanian minnows Cluj and needed an immediate response having taken just a point from their first two league games of the season and they did so as they secured a battling 3-0 win over Reggina at the Stadio Olimpico. Christian Panucci opened the scoring for Luciano Spalletti's team on the stroke of half-time and Alberto Aquilani doubled the advantage six minutes after the interval with a stunning strike. Substitute Simone Perrotta put the icing on the cake for the Eternal City giants in stoppage time.

Catania 1-0 AtalantaCATANIA 1-0 ATALANTA
Catania joined Atalanta at the top of the table thanks to a 1-0 win at the Stadio Massimino, ending the Bergamo outfit's perfect start to the season. Michele Paolucci, who played for Atalanta on loan from Juventus last season, scored the only goal of the game on the hour-mark to earn all three points for the Sicilians. The result was rather harsh on the visitors, who looked confident after two wins in a row and created many chances, but they simply could not convert any and had to accept their first defeat of the season.
