Prandelli to return 'home' with Azzurri

The Italian Football Federation (FIGC) has announced Fiorentina's Stadio Artemio Franchi will host Italy's UEFA Euro 2012 qualifier against the Faroe Islands in September, meaning new coach Cesare Prandelli will return to his former club.

Prandelli, who was presented to the media after signing a four-year contract last week, quit Fiorentina in May to replace Marcello Lippi on the Azzurri bench.

And the 52-year-old will have the opportunity to return to the stadium that was his 'home' for five years in the first home Euro 2012 qualifier against the Faroe Islands on September 7.

Prandelli will make his debut in a friendly with the Ivory Coast at West Ham United's Upton Park stadium in London on August 10.

His first competitive game, the opening Euro 2012 Group C qualifier, will be against Estonia in Tallinn on September 3.
