[Mercato] Boruc seals Viola switch

Fiorentina have completed the signing of Polish international goalkeeper Artur Boruc from Celtic for an undisclosed fee.

A statement from the club read: "Fiorentina announces it has completed the permanent transfer of Artur Boruc after a successful medical from Celtic."

The former Legia Warsaw No1 has put pen to paper on a two-year contract with the Viola after passing a medical and will immediately link up with his new team-mates for pre-season training in Cortina d'Ampezzo.

The 30-year-old will compete with Sebastien Frey for the goalkeeping jersey, something he has experience of having had to ward off the challenge of compatriot Lukasz Zaluska at Celtic last term.

Boruc made 162 Scottish Premier League appearances for the Glasgow outfit in five seasons in Scotland, winning three championships and the 2006 Scottish Cup.
