Sinisa Mihajlovic has been confirmed as the new coach of Fiorentina following the departure of Cesare Prandelli.
Fiorentina had been looking for a new boss after Prandelli opted to replace Marcello Lippi as coach of the Italy national team after the FIFA World Cup finals.
The Viola had been disappointed by the handling of Prandelli's exit, but have moved swiftly to fill the vacancy in Florence by appointing Mihajlovic.
The 41-year-old had most recently been in charge of Catania, but he resigned from that position last month after leading the club to a mid-table finish in Serie A.
He had been linked with the Inter job, having previously worked as an assistant at the Giuseppe Meazza, but Mihajlovic has now taken over at Fiorentina.
Though the Viola reached the last 16 of the UEFA Champions League last season, the club endured a disappointing campaign domestically after finishing 11th in the table.
