Palermo have signed striker Massimo Maccarone from relegated side Siena for an undisclosed fee.
The 30-year-old Maccarone, who scored 12 goals in 37 games during the 2009-10 Serie A campaign, has signed a three-year contract at Palermo with the option for a further season.
The former Empoli, Middlesbrough and Parma forward is the second attacking addition the Sicilian side have made this summer, after ertswhile Chilean international striker Mauricio Pinilla joined from Serie B side Grosseto last week.
The Sicilians will join the UEFA Europa League in the play-offs after finishing fifth in Serie A last term.
