[UCL] Fiorentina win not enough

Fiorentina are out of the UEFA Champions League on the away-goals rule despite winning the second leg of their Round of 16 tie with Bayern Munich 3-2.

Fiorentina 3-2 Bayern Munich
4-4 on aggregate, Bayern win on the away-goals rule.
Bayern Munich are through to the quarter-finals of the Champions League after Arjen Robben's stunning effort secured a pulsating away-goals win at the expense of an unlucky Fiorentina at a wet and windy Stadio Artemio Franchi. Controversially trailing 2-1 after the first leg, goals from Juan Vargas and Stevan Jovetic had put the hosts on course for the last eight of Europe's elite competition for the first time since 1970. Yet Jovetic's 54th-minute effort was merely the start of a frenetic spell which brought four goals in 11 minutes. Mark Van Bommel levelled the tie with a low drive on the hour only for Jovetic to score his second four minutes later. That sparked wild celebrations from the home bench, but just 72 seconds later Robben, who had been well marshalled until that point, broke free of his markers to unleash an unstoppable 30-yard strike to settle the contest on away goals.
