Napoli President Aurelio De Laurentiis has confirmed that talks over a new deal for Marek Hamsik are progressing well.
The Slovakian midfielder has emerged as one of the most exciting young players in Serie A since his move to Napoli in 2007.
A number of top European clubs, including champions Inter, have been credited with an interest in the 22-year-old.
Hamsik, who scored a last-minute equaliser in the 2-2 draw against Roma on Sunday, admitted last week that he was flattered to attract such attention, although he stressed that he was happy at Napoli.
He also revealed that negotiations were planned with Napoli regarding a contract extension.
De Laurentiis has already spoken to Hamsik's representative and does not believe there will be any problems for him to put pen to paper in the summer.
"We are delighted to have Marek in our family," De Laurentiis told Radio Marte. "With his agent we have already discussed the extension of contract.
"In May, we will define everything."
