Serse Cosmi has resigned as coach of Livorno following the 2-0 home defeat by Napoli in Serie A today.
Cosmi, who only took charge of the club in October following Gennaro Ruotolo and Vittorio Russo's departure, admitted his relationship with President Aldo Spinelli had broken down.
The two men are believed to have fallen out over Antonio Candreva's sale to Juventus last week.
"I took this decision, which for me is painful, due to differences with President Spinelli over the team's technical managing situation," Cosmi told reporters.
The flamboyant former Perugia boss leaves Livorno in 14th place in the Serie A standings and just two points above the relegation places after their loss to Napoli at the Stadio Armando Picchi.
Christian Maggio fired the visitors in front before the interval with Luca Cigarini making sure of the points in stoppage-time, moments after Livorno goalkeeper Alfonso De Lucia was given his marching orders.
