The draws for the UEFA Europa League last 32 and last 16 were held in Switzerland today with the Italian duo of Juventus and Roma handed tough routes into the quarter-finals.
Juventus dropped into the Europa League after a disappointing UEFA Champions League campaign and Ciro Ferrara's men have been drawn with Dutch giants Ajax in the first knock-out round.
Roma, who were the only Serie A side to progress from the Europa League group stage after the elimination of Genoa and city rivals Lazio, will meet Greek outfit Panathinaikos.
Having been seeded for the draw, both Juve and Roma will play the first leg of their ties away from home on 18 February, with the return matches scheduled for 25 February.
The round of 16 draw was also made on Friday and there are some mouthwatering potential lineups. Should Juve get through against Ajax, they will meet either Fulham or last season's UEFA Cup winners Shakhtar Donetsk in March, and if Claudio Ranieri's Roma manage to negotiate Panathinaikos they will come up against either Standard Liege or Salzburg.
