Palermo have signed Romanian international Dorin Goian from Steaua Bucharest for a reported 2million euros.
The 28-year-old has spent the last four and a half seasons with Steaua, having joined the club from Bacau. With five goals in 27 internationals, he represented Romania at UEFA Euro 2008.
"After five years spent at Steaua, the time has come for me to try a new experience," he told Romanian television OTV.
"I made many sacrifices and worked hard to earn myself this opportunity."
The central defender has signed a four-year contract with the Sicilian club.
New Palermo coach Walter Zenga has been busy in the transfer market this summer with the likes of Rubinho, Nicolas Bertolo and Javier Pastore all coming in.
