Santon signs new Inter contract

Davide Santon has reportedly signed a new deal with Serie A champions Inter, according to his agent.

Davide SantonSanton is set to earn ten times the amount he's earning now, increasing his seasonal wage from an approximate €100,000 per season to €1 million. The new deal sees the youngster staying with the Nerazzurri until the summer of 2014.

Hailed by the media as the "new Paolo Maldini', Santon has already featured for the Italian national side, though he did not play a single minute for the Arruzzi in the recent FIFA Confederations Cup.

The new deal signifies the confidence both President Massimo Moratti and coach Jose Mourinho have in their budding star, a target for praise in the recent months.

Santon made 20 appearances for the Nerazzurri last season.
