[Mercato] Cagliari clinch Nene signing

Cagliari have officially confirmed the signing of Brazilian striker Miguel Anderson Da Silva.

NeneBetter known as Nene, the 25-year-old joins the Serie A club from Portuguese Liga outfit Nacional da Madeira for a reported fee of 4.5million euros.

The former Cruzeiro frontman, who topped the goalscoring charts in Portugal with 20 goals last term, is delighted to have been awarded an opportunity to prove himself in one of Europe's most prestigious leagues.

"I'm very happy to be here," he told the club's official website. "I must thank President [Massimo] Cellino for making the financial effort to sign me.

"Now it is up to me to repay that faith.

"I feel the pressure which will come from replacing a player like [Robert] Acquafresca [who has returned to Inter following a loan spell] because he scored a lot of goals.

"It has always been my dream to play in a major European league, though, and now that has come true.

"Now I hope to become part of the Brazil national team and if I am to do that I must be giving my best for my club."

He has signed a four-year contract with the Sardinian club.
