German side Werder Bremen will face Shakhtar Donetsk from Ukraine in the last UEFA Cup final on 20 May after both won dramatic last-four ties.
Shakhtar reached their first European final by beating countrymen Dynamo Kiev 2-1 thanks to Ilsinho's late winner. After drawing 1-1 in the first leg, they went in front after 17 minutes when Rodrigues Jadson slotted in. Dynamo fought back and soon after the break they levelled when Ismael Bangoura converted. With the match seemingly destined for extra-time Ilsinho won it in superb fashion.
Werder lost their first leg 1-0 at home to Hamburg but produced a fine comeback to win 3-2 despite Ivica Olic's opener. Diego levelled, Claudio Pizarro fired in and then Frank Baumann headed in, before Olic managed a late consolation. Bremen, who will be without Huventus transfer target Diego for the final after he picked up a booking that rules him out, will now play Shakhtar in Istanbul on Wednesday 20 May.
