Udinese have signed highly-rated Chilean forward Fabian Orellana from Audax Italiano in a deal thought to be worth around 2.7 million euros.
The 23-year-old came to prominence when he scored the winner in a FIFA World Cup qualifying win over South American giants Argentina in October 2008.
Orellana caught the attention of European clubs when he scored two goals in the 2008 Toulon Under-23 tournament, where Chile lost the final 1-0 to Italy.
Udinese had been tracking the striker for several months and, according to media reports, the deal is done.
He will become the second Chilean youngster to enter Serie A through Udinese, joining international teammate Alexis Sanchez.
