Juventus cut Inter's leadership of Serie A to six points with a 1-0 defeat of Napoli ahead of the Nerazzurri's meeting with Roma on Sunday night, while Lazio heightened Bologna's relegation worries with a 2-0 win.
JUVENTUS 1-0 NAPOLI
Juventus recovered from their Champions League defeat at Chelsea to add to the pressure on Napoli coach Edoardo Reja with a win at Turin's Stadio Olimpico. Claudio Marchisio scored shortly before the interval to take the Bianconeri to within six points of Serie A leaders Inter, who host Roma tomorrow night. Napoli, in contrast, are still searching for their first win in eight league matches and remain stuck in mid-table with Reja clinging onto his job by a thread.
LAZIO 2-0 BOLOGNA
A Mauro Zarate brace helped Lazio to a comfortable 2-0 victory over Bologna, their first at the Stadio Olimpico since December. Zarate fired Lazio into the lead after 36 minutes with a powerful curling free-kick and then doubled his side's advantage nine minutes from time after some wonderful passing with Tommaso Rocchi. The victory pushes the Biancocelesti into seventh spot ahead of the rest of the weekend's fixtures, putting them firmly in the hunt for a Europa League berth, while Bologna remain a point above the relegation zone.
