Serie A - Week 20: Saturday Review

Juventus 1-0 FiorentinaJuventus moved to the top of Serie A on goal difference for at least 24 hours after a 1-0 win over Fiorentina in an entertaining clash in Turin. Chievo won the battle of the basement boys against Reggina.

JUVENTUS 1-0 FIORENTINA
Juventus moved level with Inter at the top of Serie A thanks to a narrow 1-0 win over Fiorentina. A goal after 20 minutes from Claudio Marchisio decided the game in the home side's favour, but Fiorentina will have felt hard done by for the second week running after having a seemingly-valid goal from Alberto Gilardino disallowed in the first half. Cesare Prandelli's side created enough chances to equalise, but found Gianluigi Buffon in fine fettle to deny them.

Reggina 0-1 ChievoREGGINA 0-1 CHIEVO
A 93rd-minute goal from Vincenzo Italiano handed Chievo a crucial 1-0 victory over 10-man Reggina in their basement battle at the Stadio Oreste Granillo. The struggling teams, who were locked on 13 points at the foot of Serie A going into the match, appeared to be equally inseparable as the clock ticked deep into injury-time. A point would have been just reward for Reggina who battled gamely for 50 minutes after Chilean midfielder Carlos Carmona was sent off for petulantly kicking the ball at Luca Rigoni. But Italiano stunned the home fans as he collected the ball on the edge of the area and directed a stunning shot into the top left-hand corner. The result means Domenico Di Carlo's men climb a place to 18th while dejected Reggina stay rooted at the bottom of the pile.
