LAZIO 0-3 INTER
Champions Inter opened up a provisional nine-point lead at the top of Serie A thanks to a comfortable 3-0 win against fifth-placed Lazio at the Stadio Olimpico. Walter Samuel put the Nerazzurri ahead after just two minutes before an own goal from Modibo Diakite gifted them a second in first-half stoppage time. Zlatan Ibrahimovic added a third ten minutes into the second half for Jose Mourinho's side, who are gaining momentum with this their sixth consecutive win in the league.

Roma's Serie A resurgence continued with a creditable 1-0 victory at Chievo courtesy of Jeremy Menez's impressive 69th-minute winner. The Eternal City giants have recovered from a horrendous start to the season with captain Francesco Totti's return coinciding with a significant upturn in fortunes. But arriving in Verona on the back of four successive victories, it was summer signing Menez who provided the crucial contribution as 10-man Roma dominated throughout. The Frenchman's left-footed strike sealed the points for Luciano Spalletti's side - despite the late dismissal of Matteo Brighi.
