Juventus returned to winning ways in Serie A in some style by defeating lowly Reggina 4-0 in Turin, on a night when Lecce gained a valuable point at Catania.
JUVENTUS 4-0 REGGINA
Juventus secured a thumping 4-0 win over Reggina which edged them into second place in the Serie A standings ahead of AC Milan. Mauro Camoranesi put the Turin side ahead on the half-hour mark and Amauri doubled the advantage shortly before the interval. Juve did not let up in the second half as Giorgio Chiellini and Alessandro Del Piero, scoring his 250th goal in a Bianconeri shirt from the penalty spot, added further goals to earn all three points in difficult wintry conditions at the Stadio Olimpico. The win takes Claudio Ranieri's side three points behind league leaders Inter.
CATANIA 1-1 LECCE
A second-half screamer from Jose Ignacio Castillo rescued a valuable point for Lecce against Catania to help them inch away from the relegation zone. With 68 minutes on the clock Castillo unleashed a 30-yard drive that beat Francesco Benussi to snatch a draw for his side and deny Catania their sixth home win of the season. Catania had taken the lead just eight minutes earlier thanks to a low drive from Michele Paolucci, but Walter Zenga's men had to settle for a share of the spoils which sees them remain in seventh.
