The Lega Calcio have confirmed that this Saturday's Week 3 game between Salernitana and Frosinone has been postponed due to an unexploded bomb discovered in the city yesterday.
Around 5000 people had to be evacuated from the Salerno area while experts tried to disarm a 65-year-old weapon from World War II.
And the local authorities have decided that it wouldn't be wise to play Saturday's game at the Stadio Arechi - even though it is beyond the affected area.
"The necessary level of security won't be available," a statement from the council read.
"Having discussed the situation with the Lega Calcio, the game will be played at another time."
The match has now been rescheduled for Monday night, kicking off at 1945 UK time (+1hr for Italy/CET).
