Italy captain Fabio Cannavaro and striker Luca Toni have been included in Marcello Lippi's 22-man squad for the 2010 World Cup qualifiers against Cyprus and Georgia next week.
The pair missed the friendly against Austria through injury but have now been declared fully fit.
Alessandro Gamberini and Morgan De Sanctis also return from injury but Simone Perrotta, Giorgio Chiellini and Marco Materazzi miss out after picking up injuries.
There is no place once again for Antonio Cassano who was left out against Austria, Lippi's first match back in charge of the Azzurri since winning the World Cup in 2006 - a tournament for which the controversial Sampdoria striker also failed to make the cut.
The players will gather in Florence on Monday evening ahead of training and preperations on Tuesday. The squad will then travel to Larnaca on Friday for the first qualifier against Cyprus on September 6 before taking on Georgia four days later in Udine.
They also face Bulgaria, Montenegro and the Republic of Ireland in European Qualifying Group Eight.
