Melo impressed in the Spanish Primera Liga last term and became a target for a number of sides across Europe.
The Viola shouldered the competition aside and it has been common knowledge for weeks that the Brazilian was ready to put pen to paper.

And late last night, the deal was completed with an estimated £10m going to Almeria.
"Fiorentina would like to announce the purchase of 24-year-old midfielder Melo on a permanent basis from Almeria," a statement on the club’s website reads.
