[Mercato] Bologna swoop for Bernacci

Newly promoted Bologna have continued their recruitment drive by adding Ascoli hitman Marco Bernacci to the ranks.

The Felsinei grabbed second spot in Serie B to return to the top flight after a three-year absence.

The task now is to build a squad capable of holding their own amongst the elite and Bernacci, who hit 16 goals in the second tier last term, has joined Sampdoria midfielder Sergio Volpi at the Stadio Renato Dall'Ara.

Towering 24-year-old Bernacci, who has signed a five-year contract, is seen as a big prospect for the future, but he is yet to test his talent on the big stage.

Bologna are expected to invest heavily after being bought by a group of American investors.
