Livorno have plan B

Livorno President Aldo Spinelli has already set the wheels in motion for next season after their relegation to Serie B.

The Tuscan side were relegated on Sunday after their 1-0 defeat to Torino at the Stadio Armando Picchi and now face the drop to the second tier after four years in Serie A.

However, Spinelli is staying positive and has already planned for his club to bounce straight back to the top Division.

"We have already chosen a coach and there is a plan B in place," explained Spinelli.

"One of the names is at a Serie A club, and I won’t say who it is because the season is still going on, and the other is Rimini’s Leonardo Acori. We are ready to rebuild the squad and the aim is obviously to return to Serie A immediately."

Acori has already announced his departure from Rimini at the end of the season, with the club currently sat in seventh place in Serie B with three games remaining, after accusing them of lacking ambition.

However, it is thought that Acori would prefer a move to the top flight and has already voiced his interest in replacing Delio Rossi at Lazio.
