Last 32, Second Leg
With Fiorentina having secured a narrow 1-0 away first-leg lead, the tie continued in a cagey style at the Stadio Artemio Franchi.
However, it was the home side who took the lead as Fabio Liverani netted from 18 yards on 38 minutes after being set up by Marco Donadel. Substitute Daniele Cacia then set Fiorentina on their way to the last 16 as he hit a second with nine minutes remaining.
Yssouf Kone pulled back a late consolation for Rosenborg in the 88th minute but it was too little too late.
Cesare Prandelli's side will now face Everton after the Premier League side completed an 8-1 aggregate victory over Brann. The first leg will take place in Florence on March 6 before the return in Liverpool on March 12/13.
