Coppa Italia: Round 4, 2nd Leg (3)

Inter breezed into the quarter-finals of the Coppa Italia as they completed a 7-1 aggregate thrashing of Reggina while Lazio edged past Napoli.

Going into the second leg of their last 16 tie, Inter would have been confident of not befalling the same fate as their city rivals AC Milan last night as they began with a 4-1 advantage.

Any lingering nerves were soon banished too as Hernan Crespo put them in front shortly after the half-hour mark. An own goal by Reggina's Emmanuel Cascione just before the break extended the lead further before Aparecido Rodrigues Cesar scored in added time as the Nerazzurri continued their unbeaten record in domestic competition this season.

The Serie A champions now must overcome rivals Juventus if they are to continue their quest for a third Coppa triumph in four seasons.

Meanwhile, Lazio kept their hopes alive as they set up a last eight encounter against Fiorentina with a 3-2 aggregate victory in Naples.

Igli Tare increased Lazio's advantage from the first leg early in the second half and despite a late goal by Maurizio Domizzi the home faithful at the Stadio San Paolo saw Napoli's cup dreams vanish.

Holders Roma take on Sampdoria and Catania play Udinese in the other last eight ties. They begin next Wednesday with the return legs a week later.
