Quartet await European draws

The three remaining Serie A sides in the UEFA Champions League will discover their next opponents on Friday when the draw for the last 16 knockout stage is made. Fiorentina will also find out who they face in the last 32 of the UEFA Cup.

AC Milan and city rivals Inter topped their groups and should have an easier path to the last eight - and they will also play the second leg at home.

As group runners-up, Roma will be pitted against one of the winners from other pools in the draw which starts at 1100 (UK Time/+1hr Italy).

Clubs from the same country or pool and group winners will not play each other.

Defending champions Milan could face a rematch with last year's finalists Liverpool. The Rossoneri could also be drawn with Arsenal, Olympique Lyonnais, Schalke, Olympiakos or Fenerbahce.

Inter's prospective opponents also include Liverpool, Arsenal, Olympique Lyonnais, Schalke and Olympiakos, as well as Celtic.

Roma could be handed a clash with either Barcelona, Real Madrid, Chelsea, Porto or Sevilla.

The first knockout round ties will take place on 19 and 20 February, with the return legs on 4 and 5 March.

Meanwhile, Fiorentina face a potentially tough tie in the UEFA Cup knockout stages when the draws for the next two rounds are made at 1200 (UK Time/+1hr Italy).

La Viola finished second in Group C and will face a team which finished third in the Champions League group stage.

Villarreal's 2-1 win over AEK Athens pushed Fiorentina into second spot, leaving them with possible ties against Marseille, Rosenborg, Werder Bremen, Benfica, Rangers, Sporting Lisbon, PSV Eindhoven or Slavia Prague in the last 32.

Last 32 ties will take place on 13 and 14 February, with the return legs on 21 February.

The last 16 draw will also me made, with first leg ties taking place 6 March and the returns on 12 and 13 March.
