Two upcoming Milan matches were postponed by the Lega Calcio today because the European champions will be in Japan for the FIFA Club World Cup in December.
The away match with Reggina in Week 15, scheduled for December 9, and a home game with Livorno in Week 16, on December 16, will be played at dates yet to be determined.
The Club World Cup will be held between December 7-16 and Milan, who qualified by winning the UEFA Champions League trophy last season, will make their debut in the semi-final stage of the tournament on December 13.
Before they leave for Japan, Milan host Juventus in Serie A this Saturday and play Celtic in the final Champions League group match next Tuesday. They will return to Serie A action for the final match of the year, before the winter break, in the Milan derby against Inter on December 23.
As a result, the Rossoneri could face a major fixture pile-up at the start of the new year with these two games, their game at Atalanta from Week 12 - which was abandoned following crowd trouble in Bergamo - and the two-legged Coppa Italia Round 4 matches yet to be scheduled.
