Atalanta have appointed Luigi Del Neri as their new coach following Stefano Colantuono's departure to Palermo.
Colantuono signed a two-year contract with the Sicilian club on Thursday and is replaced by 56-year-old Del Neri, who left Chievo at the end of the season after failing to help them avoid relegation from Serie A.
"This afternoon there was a handshake agreement between Del Neri and President Ivan Ruggeri," read an official statement. "The contracts will be signed on Monday."
Del Neri had made his name during a successful four-year first spell with the Verona outfit before returning last season after spells at Porto, Roma and Palermo.
He moves to an Atalanta team that finished eighth in their first season back in the top flight.
