U21: Azzurrini get-together ahead of Finals

Giuseppe Rossi and Arturo Lupoli are in the 26-man squad called by Pierluigi Casiraghi for an Under-21 international get-together.

The players will meet and train at the Coverciano training base from May 7-9 so that the coach can evaluate their form ahead of the European Championships.

The tournament will be held in the Netherlands from June 10 with the Final on June 23 and Italy are among the early favourites.

There is a new face in Casiraghi’s notebook, Palermo’s third-choice goalkeeper Salvatore Sirigu.

However, he has had to do without Roma and Inter youngsters including Gianluca Curci, Alberto Aquilani and Marco Andreolli. These players are involved in the Coppa Italia Final, set for Wednesday May 9.

Midfielders: Cigarini (Parma), De Martino (Udinese), Dessena (Parma), Lazzari (Piacenza), Montolivo (Fiorentina), Morosini (Bologna), Nocerino (Piacenza), Padoin (Vicenza), Paonessa (Vicenza), Rosina (Torino).
Forwards: Lupoli (Derby County), Palladino (Juventus), Pazzini (Fiorentina), Pelle (Cesena),
Rossi (Parma).
