Serie A Wk 33: Rescheduled Match

Wednesday 2 May
Catania 3-3 Ascoli
Ascoli are all but relegated to Serie B after throwing away a two-goal lead and drawing 3-3 with Catania. A win would have left Ascoli with a mountain still to climb, but now their plight is all but certain. They are 12 points behind 17th place Torino with four games remaining and an inferior goal difference. Ascoli were level at the interval when Viktor Boudianski cancelled out Giuseppe Mascara's opener. Goals from Giampietro Perrulli and Paolo Zanetti looked to have given the visitors control of the tie early in the second half. However, Fabio Caserta pulled one back with Gionatha Spinesi's penalty earning Catania a share of the spoils. Ascoli will be relegated on Sunday if the drop points at home to Palermo or other results go against them.
