Messina call back Giordano

Bruno Giordano has been reinstated as Messina boss after the club axed Alberto Cavasin on Monday.

The former Napoli striker was shown the door in favour of Cavasin on January 30, but has today sensationally been called back by President Pietro Franza.

The latter opted for the U-turn after the 2-0 loss at Cagliari on Sunday left his side in serious relegation danger.

Cavasin failed to spark a much-needed revolution at the San Filippo and collected just two wins and two draws in eight games.

"The club would like to thank Coach Cavasin and his staff for the work carried out over these weeks at Messina," read a short statement on the Messina website.

Giordano, who was first hired at the start of this season, will take charge of training from Tuesday morning.
