CL: Quarter-Finals, Second Leg

Tuesday 10 April
QF, Second Leg: Manchester United 7-1 Roma [AGG: 8-3]
Manchester United advanced to the UEFA Champions League semi-finals in thrilling fashion as they swept Roma aside 7-1 at Old Trafford. A goal behind from the first leg, Sir Alex Ferguson's men blew their opponents away with four first-half strikes from Michael Carrick, Alan Smith, Wayne Rooney and Cristiano Ronaldo. Further efforts after the break from Ronaldo, Carrick and Patrice Evra completed a remarkable 8-3 aggregate success. Daniele De Rossi's late volley did give Roma a consolation goal to make it 6-1 but they were played off the park by the Premiership leaders.

QF, Second Leg: Other Results
Valencia 1-2 Chelsea [AGG: 2-3].

Wednesday 11 April
QF, Second Leg: Bayern Munich 0-2 AC Milan [AGG: 2-4]
Experience told as clinical Milan scored twice in the space of four first-half minutes to claim an impressive 4-2 aggregate victory over Bayern Munich, and a semi-final against Manchester United. Daniel Van Buyten's late equaliser at the San Siro had swung the initiative in Bayern's direction and the Bundesliga giants started where they had left off. However, with more than 600 Champions League appearances between them, Milan were unfazed, kept their shape and then pounced midway through the opening period. Clarence Seedorf broke the deadlock on 27 minutes and Filippo Inzaghi quickly added a second. Bayern may have made a habit of comebacks this campaign but tonight's was a deficit too far.

QF, Second Leg: Other Results
Liverpool 1-0 PSV Eindhoven [AGG: 4-0].
