Fixture changes: New kick-off times

NEW KICK-OFF TIMES FOLLOWING SICILIAN VIOLENCE
In December, the Lega Calcio confirmed the changes to the Serie A schedules all the way up to Round 29 in March 2007. The Serie B calendar was also updated, up to Round 31.

Following the violence at the Sicilian derby between Catania and Palermo on February 2 which reulted in the death of a police officer, the Italian Football Federation (FIGC) suspended the remaining matches in Round 22 of Serie A and Serie B. They then, with the government announced new laws to eradicate violence at Italian football matches. The FIGC also decided to scrap all evening kick-offs for the rest of February.

However, only two rounds of matches were affected by the banning of evening kick-offs, as the FIGC confirmed night games can resume from Round 25 in both Serie A and Serie B. But the number of games that will be allowed to kick-off in the evenings will be limited to one and matches of 'high-risk' will still get an afternoon kick-off.

Many of the other adjustments to the day of the match and the kick-off time have been made in the light of the midweek Champions League and UEFA Cup fixtures, and television coverage in Italy.
