Silvio Berlusconi's Mediaset alleges it has taken a tough hit with the loss of TV viewers because of the Calciopoli scandal this past summer in Serie A that saw Juventus being relegated to Serie B.
The company says it had a 15 percent drop in price from TV rights in Serie A and a 52 percent increase for Serie B because of the relegation of Juventus. It also claims it had a 17.5 percent drop in Serie A "season ticket" sales.
According to reports, Mediaset has taken legal action against the Lega Calcio over the dropping cost of its Serie A highlights rights.
Mediaset is thought to be paying approximately 61.7 million Euros a year for highlights rights.
