Bari’s Stadio San Nicola will stage Italy’s Euro 2008 qualifier against Scotland in March.
The Italian Football Federation confirmed the 58,000 capacity venue for March 28, although work needs to be done on the Serie B club’s arena.
“This decision was made after assurances from the Bari Council that the necessary restructuring work to reach international standards will be completed quickly,” explained an official statement.
Bari is one of the eight venues picked by the FIGC in its candidacy for the Euro 2012 tournament.
The Azzurri have already faced British opposition in the south east of Italy, as they beat England 2-1 in the Third-place Final in Italia '90.
The last time Italy played at the Stadio San Nicola was over a decade ago in a 1995 European Championship qualifier against Ukraine.
