Siena hit with point penalty

Siena President Paolo De Luca has been suspended for 3 months.
Siena have been docked a point today due to late payment of taxes on players' wages.

As well as the point penalty, Siena President Paolo De Luca has been handed a three-month suspension from the game by the Italian Football League's disciplinary commission. He said he would appeal both decisions.

Before today, the Tuscan club were lying fifth in the Italian top flight with eleven points from six games, but now drop to sixth below Livorno.

Serie B outfit Pescara were also punished for the same reason, receiving an identical punishment to the Tuscan outfit.
